About this clinic
Food, nutrition counseling and access to health services are provided to women, infants and children under the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, popularly known as WIC. WIC is particularly effective in improving the health of pregnant women, new mothers, and their infants. WIC participation is linked to longer gestation periods, higher birthwieghts, and lower infant mortality. About 45 percent of the babies born in the U.S. are served by WIC.
