About this clinic

Established as a pilot program in 1972 and made permanent in 1974, WIC is administered and funded by the United States Department of Agriculture and on the local level in Cambria County by Community Action. The WIC Program serves over 8 million pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and preschool children through 9,000 clinics nationwide. In Pennsylvania, WIC provides services to over 225,000 participants in 67 counties. On a monthly basis, 14 CAPCC WIC staff provided a multitude of services to an average of 3,500 individuals at 4 office sites located Cambria County. The largest of these WIC office sites is Johnstown, followed by Ebensburg then Northern Cambria, and finally a small bi-monthly clinic at Johnstown High School.
